By the f word, I mean “failure!”
Oct 06, 2021What did you think I meant?
This has come up for me so much over the last couple of months.
In fact. Just recently I was watching the show younger and it even came up on there, that one of the characters, who was quite a bad ass has developed a sense of vulnerability after a big failure. But what she realised was that after every failure was her biggest breakthrough.
What if just like the amazing brene brown suggests and we live in a state of vulnerability all of the time.
To dare to take risks. No matter the consequences. Because, really what’s the worst that could happen?
The truth is that we always come back from failure, most of the time even stronger than before.
And if we use failure as a guide, almost like an anti compass, that if we try and fail, it means we weren’t going in the right direction anyway or alternatively like the famous Thomas Edison who didn’t believe in failure and instead had a scientific mindset “I haven’t failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”
If we just keep persevering and build up the resiliency to recognize and see failure as an indicator, rather than the steering wheel, we are in full control to pick ourselves back up and keep going or change direction!
Because if we’re not trying and we’re just living robotically each day - then we are simply playing not to lose - rather than playing to win.
Instead of being afraid of failure, let’s celebrate it! Because it means that your playing full out and giving everything 100%.
The only cost of failure is.....learning! - If your not failing, your not growing!
